Subject: Library auto assignment during import system
Message:
Hi, I would like to know if there is any way to make the library assignment automactically during system import process to save time. For example, when a motherboard BOM is imported into PRISM, we would like to know if the library can be attached to each BOM item automatically without manual assignment. If yes, please let us know the process. Thanks in advance, st

PRISM allows users to import data into systems and the PRISM component library and export this same data from a system or the component library. Each of these actions is guided by a "wizard" to take the user step by step through the process. Files to be used as importing sources should be delimited text files with each intended record on it's own line.

Importing data into a system structure is simple as following the steps that appear on the screen. The Import dialog will appear requesting the direction of the import. To import into a new or existing system, a user must select either the "New System" or "Existing System" options. PRISM allows users to set up an import to retrieve data from multiple source files. The "System Import" dialog sets up the importing of files, the destination of the information, and the mapping of the data within the file(s). Any file may be selected as long as the information it contains can be read as a simple text file.

When an import is complete, the system will open in PRISM. If any errors have occurred during the import process, the offending data will be identified in the comments field allowing the user to easily resolve these issues.

When importing a BOM into a system in PRISM, there is currently no way to automatically associate data from a user defined component library during the import process.

I hope this answers your questions. If you have additional questions feel free to contact me and/or review the Help contained within the SRC PRISM software.
