If so, what is the likely improvement? I have experienced 2 failure incidents in endurance testing on a PEC where the capacitors are use as decouplers on a 5V and 15V rail. They are 40% voltage derated. Any thoughts? Bob Moore

Can anyone shed some insight into the dormant failure rate ratio one should use for mechanical components. The various handbooks suggest numbers of 1 to 10 through 1 to 100 for electronic components, but I would think that mechanical components would be much higher. Any thoughts?
