Subject: Definition of MCTBF
Message:
I appreciate if someone could provide the definition and its source for these terms below.

1. Mean Calendar Time Between Failure (MCTBF)
2. What is the terminology for 1/MCTBF?
3. What is the Mean Corrective Time Between Failures?
Thank you, Andy

Subject: Tantalum Caps
Message:
We have been examing the failure rates of tantalum capacitors and have concerns about them. Is it possible to answer the following question with regards to translating
the capacitors expected reliability into FITS? "1% at 1000 hours at 85C at 60% confidence" translates into X FITs at 50C?"

Subject: PRISM demo
Message:
I have another question regarding the PRISM software. Can someone tell me what is dormant temperature? Why is the overstress message only comes up when the temperature is over 200 degrees when the junction temperature should not exceed 150 degrees. Is this a fair comparison ? Why is also the thera-JA must be in the range of 1-500 whereas the data available from most manufacturers states a theta-JA of less than 1.

Subject: PRISM demo
Message:
I have downloaded the PRISM demo version. I am comparing between the predecessor and the example system for calculating failure rates. I however noticed that there is no difference between the predecessor system and the new system used by RACrates. Can someone tell me what's the difference. Thank you.

Subject: premature clutch wearout on hi-performance auto
Message:
I'm investigating premature clutch failure at 25,000 miles on a high performance M series BMW, and am looking for supporting data that would validate that normal wearout is at 150,000 miles on their M series cars. I was given this number as normal weatout from a tech rep of the BMW car club, so it is not official. The vehicle was driven normally and not abused (raced), basic street and freeway driving in California. Where can I get data to support or debunk such claims? BMW has been unresponsive.
