Its failure rate data is derived from either Bellcore or field statistic. For some reasons, we use a new type of optical module in the new product. The new component is made by a different new technical, or a different manufacturing process, or even only manufactured by a different product line. Can the failure rate of the old component be used in the new component? Or how to get the new component's failrue rate?

These switches would be used in an industrial environment (sealed from moisture and dust). Thank you.
