For instance, if you have a system that operates at one reliability value R for a third of the time, and another reliability R2 for two-thirds of the time, would the reliability for one hour be = 1/3 R + 2/3 R2?

Does anyone have this type of information or know some resources I can tap into?

If anyone is aware of current or on-going work in this area (public or private), I would appreciate it if you could pass along a source and/or point of contact. I'm, also, looking for any informations concerning "a posteriori" techniques to estimate software reliability. Thank you!
