Subject: ESS
Message:
Further to my question of the 15 January, I have read through several documents regarding ESS. The general consensus is that there should be a minimum of 10 cycles for an effective ESS program. Could somebody tell me how this figure was arrived at and why not less than 10 and is there a calculation that can be done to determine an effective number of cycles for a new product.
Thanks in advance

Subject: PDF file
Message:
I tried to download the journal file Vol 8, nbr 1, 1st Q-2000. I have Acrobat reader 4.05 installed, but the file is not completely shown. I noticed the next effects.
In the office with NT4.0 and Netscape 4.7. When I try to browse through the pages, Netscape stops responding and I have to kill it with the task manager. If I don't browse but send the file directly to a printer, also netscape stops and sometimes my entire PC locks up. At home with W98 and explorer 5. During download of the PDF file, it kills acrobat with a fatal error. The journal Vol 8,4 works fine. Something wrong at your side or is it me?

Subject: Failure statistics again
Message:
I asked you Jan. 26 about MIL-HDBK-217 statistics. I think you misunderstood me! My question to was really about statistics concerning the development of component reliability or growth over the years from early 217 to 217F - “how much have the resistors (or other components) failure rate been improved over the years/(217 issues)?”
