From the Non-Electronic Parts Reliability Data (NPRD-95), I found reliability data that indicated that the Lens failure rate for a ground benign conditions was 0.05 failures per million hours. From the Failure Mode and Mechanism Distribution (FMD-97), I found that Lens have a distribution of failure modes of 60% cracked or fractured, 20% broken and 20% scarred or punctured. I could not locate optical mirror information in our usual sources.
