Appendix A of "Reliability Toolkit: Commercial Practices Edition" explains and summarizes the parts count prediction technique of Mil-Hdbk-217. Connections are addressed under the Single Connections part type and are treated as any other part. The failure rate provided is for a single connection and it is necessary to total up how many connections of each type there are in your assembly. The Reliability Toolkit (order code: CPE)is available from the Reliability Analysis Center for $25 US, $35 Non-US by calling 1-888-722-8737.
