In the light of MIL STDs and HDBKs getting obsolete can somebody suggest the best HDBK/Procedure for commercial products Reliability Prediction.

Based on years of performing predictions and developing component models to make these predictions, we at the Reliability Analysis Center feel that our "PRISM" reliability estimator is the best tool for determining the reliability of devices and higher assemblies. This product, developed in 1999, estimates the individual and combined reliabilities for most electronic and electromechanical parts. The model is flexible in that it estimates operating, non-operating and external effects on a part by part basis. Temperature and vibration conditions can be varied to develop ranges of capabilities. The model allows the inclusion of any test or field experience data by combining the data using bayesian statistics to develop a better picture of the product in the expected environment. PRISM also has factors for manufacturing processes and growth of the product. All combined, the estimate should provide a realistic picture of the product capability in the normal use regime.
