Subject: Test Connections for ESS
Message:
Does anyone out there have a preferred method for attaching test leads to circuit boards during vibration testing? The test I have in mind uses pseudo-random, broad band vibration in the 3 to 5 G range. I'm afraid that 'mini grabber' style test leads might give intermittent contact, or worse, provide a higher mass/longer moment arm that might fatigue the boards. Currently I have been temporarily soldering test leads on to the boards. Of course this adds time and I would like to reduce the setup time for the test if possible. I would appreciate any insights that others have. Thank you, Dave White

Our electrical engineeing section agreed with your concern with "mini grabber" style test leads. They knew of no other means to quickly connect the wires to the boards. They recommended to continue to solder the leads on the boards.
