Subject: Optical Reliability
I am looking to gather information on optically induced damage effects in optical fibres and components. Ideally dealing with a wavelength of 1550nm and at power levels exceeding 150mw although any information on possible failure mechanisms would be appreciated.

In the RAC doucment, "Reliable Application of Optoelectronic Devices", failure mechanisms for detectors, emitters, isolators, fibers and connectors are delinated. This document is available from the RAC product catalog which can be reviewed at http://rac.alionscience.com. The information is for generic optoelectronic components and may fit your application needs.
