We want to conduct a stress prediction and derating on a product. But how to get the practical stress values of various of components in early stages of life cycle? Thanks.

The RAC recently developed a new publication that addresses the derating levels for components. For more information on this publication visit: http://rac.alionscience.com/rac/jsp/webproducts/products.jsp?detail=D-RATE In the initial stages, you could assume that the system being developed usses standard derating guidelines and later refine your prediction with actual stresses when they become available. The RAC also has developed a new comprehensive reliability prediction assessment tool (PRISM) that encompasses new component and system prediction models. For more information on PRISM, visit: http://rac.alionscience.com/prism If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact me.
