Does any body have experience on conduction HALT on controllers (electronic control units used on automotives and construction equipment)? What stresses are used? How to monitor the functions of controller and how to detect the failure? Thanks.

The primary stress conditions that could be considered as test parameters include: temperature, humidity, vibration and shock. Monitoring the test requires the application of test equipment and power to the module. Specific levels of acceptable performance have to be determined from the user needs and the design parameters. HALT is a relatively new concept by technology standards. One book that may help is by Gregg Hobbs.
