Has anyone tried to apply the Non-homogenous Poisson methods for multiple units with different start and stop times? Can this be done in MS Excel. How do you solve for lamda and beta? Thank you, Any help would be appreciated

Failures of products shipped at different times may be regarded as the output from nonhomogeneous Poisson processes. Please refer to http://web.utk.edu/~asaqp/newsletters/1299newsletter.pdf page 13 for the nonparametric max likelihood estimates of reliability and failure rate functions from multiple units with different start and stop times, singly or grouped. Http://members.home.net/pstlarry/ProdRel.htm gives software specification. I'm working on an interactive version in VBScript. Generally accepted accounting principles require population ships and returns (failure) data, grouped by accounting interval. Such data are sufficient to estimate npmle reliability, for products.
