Subject: Laserjet Printer MTBF
Message:
I am looking for the MTBF of Color LaserJet Printers and have not found any reference to LaserJet MTBF calculations. Even the calculation for a monochrome LaserJet would be beneficial. Thanks in advance! Jim Jones

Reliability information in the RAC database for laser printers indicates a wide variance in expected results. The information includes models and manufacturer for some of the data that we collected. As you can see, the MTBF (mean-time-between-failure) values have a wide range varying from 8,000 hours to over 88,000 hours. I do not think that these printers are color models, but the data should give you some indication of the expected capabilities of laser printers. Manufacturer Type MTBF (hours) Hewlett Packard Laserjet 2000 8,000 Hewlett Packard Laserjet IV 88,000 Kyocera F-800A 56,000 QMS PS 800 18,000 QMS PS810 turbo 51,000 Talaris 800 28,000 Talaris 810 46,000 Texas Inst. 2115 31,000 Xerox 3700 10,000 Xerox 4050 71,000 Thank you for calling the Reliability Analysis Center with this inquiry. This information should be beneficial to you and others.
