Message: MIL-STD-471A is a good reference for maintainability demonstrations. In short, one must define a quantity of mainteance actions, let's say 100. From that 100, one then selects at least 30. Then, faults are inserted into the equipment and the maintenance action is times for things like detection, isolation, fix, test, etc. Then, one can use the central limit theorum to calculate the MTTR.
