Can you please help me out in Reliability testing? What is the difference between Reliability testing and testing as per some standard? Can we find out the Warranty period from the Reliability testing data for oil seals?

Reliability testing can take a number of forms. One can test of a fixed period of time to determine the chance failure rate, or you can test till all samples have failure to determine the wearout characteristics. Warranty periods can be determined from life testing as this shown when expected failures will occur. Testing to "some standard" is not defined, so I cannot explain the differences. There are many standards for testing that include environmental testing, qualification testing, quality testing, sample testing, electrical parameter performance testing, mechanical performance testing.
