Subject: Slip Ring Reliability
Message:
Hi, I am trying to find out if there are any slip ring reliability models in existence. If there are not, would it be correct just to model all the items separately? Thanks in advance.

In the Reliability Non-Electronic Part Data base, I found information on the slip rings. The data for military application has a average generic failure rate of 7.56 failures per million hours. These points are old data, that is, back in the 1980s. An analysis of the individual sub components could be performed as you indicated if you wanted to verify the old data.
