Subject: Why is government supported research on sale?
Why is research that has been conducted under the funding of the US government for sale? That research has been paid by US tax payers and it should be freely available to ALL US tax payers, period.
Why do you sale these reports? Why don't we have access to that information for free?

The Reliability Analysis Center contract developed by the government has provisions to sell reports and products on a cost recovery to cover the expenses of development and distribution enabling the reports to be produced at no cost to the government. It is because of this provision that RAC can offer such a diverse and broad range of products at very reasonable prices. There are many services that are available at no cost to the user community such as the information and content at the web site, technical inquiry services, and maintenance of the largest R&M library which you may search on line. RAC hopes that all its services provide significant value to the community and are always welcoming recommendations.
