Subject: Canceled MIL (again)
ABout START 96-2 on "Impact on Reliability of Recent Changes in DoD Acquisition Reform Policies".
Table 1 shows the state of MIL (cancelled, updated, ...). This is very interesting. But is it always relevant ? is there no subsequent updates ? Is there new documents cancelled or updated ?

Most military standards have been evaluated by the using authorities and those documents that were not performance related have been canceled or altered to become performance documents. Some documents have been transferred to handbooks where there is interest in continuing the specific area. For example, the maintainability standards have been transferred to a handbook, MIL-HDBK-470. If a new evaluation process is performed, the military will list the changes. The RAC Start sheet was a summary of the process at that time. If major changes to reliability, maintainability or supportability documents are noticed, we could produce another start sheet.
