Subject: Reliabilty Prediction for Flash Disk & solid state Disk storage Solution
Message: I have a need to develop a reliability prediciton MTBF for a 5 gigabit Flash based disk storage unit. The supplier has a Bellcore Issue 6, Method I, Case 3 prediction, but I don't know how to translate this to something more aligned with PRISM or a modified 217F, CN2 prediction. Any assistance would be appreciated on this.

Message: Bellcore method I case 3 is a part count general case with user set temperatures and electrical stress values. This is some what like the MIL-HDBK-217 stress analysis, but would use constant values instead of individual stress values. This means that one would use a fixed stress such as 0.5 for all resistors instead of variable stresses based on application. The PRISM program is totally adaptable to this approach by using universal default factors.
