Subject: Underwater Connector Failure Rates
Hi. I am looking for current failure data on underwater connectors. Do they typically follow an exponential or a Weibull distribution? Has there been any recent studies I can access? What are the current maintenance recomendations as well? Thanks!

The RAC database does not have any current or historical failure rate data for under water connectors. If corrosion is the primary failure mechanism for these components, then we should have a significant wear-out problem. This condition would not be exponential and Weibull functions should be considered for evaluation of the distribution.
