Subject: Reliablity Prediction Factor
Message:
Simple question, if I'm using the NPRD-95 book to do a reliablity prediction analysis and there's an item which only has a value for a GM environment. Is there a conversion factor that I can use to reflect an AIF environment? PLEASE HELP.

In response to your message, I am sending a copy of the Reliability Toolkit translation chart. This chart is an approximation process that translates MTBFs from one environment to another and is useful for initial design evaluations. A complete part evaluation is recommended for final design evaluations so that all parts will be evaluated at the proper environment. For part evaluation, the RAC PRISM software tool allows one to translate the part level failure rates for all environments. PRISM information can be seen at: http://rac.alionscience.com/rac/jsp/webproducts/products.jsp
