Subject: Temperature Influence on Reliability
Message: I'm searching information about the influence of temperature on reliability.
My concern is : reliability prediction take into account temperature influence, OK.
But if electronic devices are under dormant condition without ventilation during a long time (say several months) then inside temperature will raise and will damage the device.
Is there any analysis or recommendations on this subject ?
Thanks

Message: Temperature does have some impact on some non-operating component failure rates. An old reliability study analyzes the temperature and other non-operating effects on electronic components. This study was called "Impact of Non-operating Periods on Equipment Reliability" TR-85-91. This study is in-depth and includes most standard electronic components. Failure rate models and contingency factors are presented in this study.
