Subject: Integrity Analysis vs. Reliability
I am looking for information on an analysis technique for mechanical components that uses the design calculations as part of the Reliability analysis. I have heard that there is a method called "Integrity Analysis" that meets this criteria, but I have been unable to find any further information. Any information on this techique would be most appreciated. --Dave Wolf

I do not have a reference called integrity analysis but for detailed mechanical components predictions we use the Handbook of Reliability Prediction Procedures for Mechanical Equipment(NSWC-94/L07). This handbook has mechanical design terms using material strength and stress equations. The book is produced by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division in Bethesda Maryland. Another source is the RAC Mechanical Applications in Reliability Engineering report which describes an over all approach to mechanical reliability. This document is available from our product catalog.
