Subject: BIT Demo Accept/Reject Criteria
What do respondees suggest as a good way to determine a set of accept/reject criteria for BIT Demo Testing? Is this topic covered in any technical book or article?

One of the "old" Military Standards called Maintainability Verification and Demonstration (MIL-STD-471A Notice#2) has an evaluation criteria for confidence levels of testability attributes. In this section, the test results are subjected to accept reject through the use of confidence levels. The general test evaluation equation is: P(upper confidence) = P(observered estimate of population) - Z(co-efficient dependent for confidence interval desired) x sq/rt of P(1-P)/W(saample size). The accept citeria would be a calculation that is equal to or greater than the requirement / goal.
