Subject: Looking for new MOSFET reliability models
I have a vendor reliability prediction for a switching power supply which contains several MOSFETs. The vendor's prediction for these FETs is substantially lower in failure rate than the MIL-HDBK-217F, Notice 2 calculations. The vendor claims to have a new FET model from RAC. Do you have a new model? Is there some way to get this model? I can't wait for the PRISM tool, since my customer needs this prediction within 30 days from now. Help!

RAC does have new failure rate models, called "RAC Rates", which are incorporated into our new PRISM reliability analysis software. The new FET models are included with this package. The software will be available in early January 2000. A description of the models will appear in the new RAC Journal, which will be mailed out in early December.
