But wait there's more....! Just to add some background info to the question 4 previous to this one. Two capacitors have been stored in the same general location. One energised and one not. They have both expanded (the energised one more than the other). Testing reveals correct capacitance and insulation resistance. The main information required is 1 What is likely to be causing this expansion of the capacitor walls. 2 How can the extent of any degradation be tested for. 3 How to determine when they need to be put out of service.
