Subject: Problems with CMOS

I'm having problems with my CMOS. on startup BIOS check's memory several times (four or five) and say's CMOS error. Loading defaults. This is quite a old machine (486) and I need it for setting up linux server. time ago I had problems occuring in random moments with hdd (interrupt loose) I thint that this is somewhow related to this. If someone knows the answer, please answer soon. It's very important for me. thanks
